I will also discuss my plans to successfully complete the course in month. I am taking this course to decide whether Accounting is a suitable major for me.
After this class, I will decide which program to complete. My choices are between Accounting, General Business, and Management. I also hoped that the course would educate me about the accounting component of opening and running a small business.
My goal is to achieve a grade of B or higher in the class. I have completed nine weeks of the class, and I'm pleased with my grades. I have turned four out of five sets of problems in on due dates.
Chapter 3 was turned in late for 80 percent because of my illness. In chapters 2, 3, and 5, I have also completed the challenge problem that allowed me to earn some extra points. My quizzes scored The material has been challenging but also fun to learn. I found applications to small business particularly valuable.
Journalizing and posting transaction has been easy for me. However, preparing financial statements and recording adjustments was a struggle. I love the worksheet and how all steps of the accounting cycle came together in chapter 6. I learned so much! My average for two exams is 86 percent.
I did much better on the first exam than on the second one. I can see the same patter of the problem portion of the exams being easier for me that the scantrons portion. I have to spend more time on the theory to more clearly understand the concepts.
My attendance has been great. I had only three excused absences due to my illness. I was present at all other classes.
Work to be Completed: Half of the course content is still ahead. I anticipate that the work will become even more challenging. I'm particularly looking forward to learning about payroll and financial statement analysis. We still have two more exams, 3 more quizzes, and six more homeworks to turn in!
I will attempt to complete challenge problems for every assignment to earn extra credit. I am considering changing my goal for the class to an A. I know that I will have to maintain and probably increase my discipline and focus as the work gets more challenging.
One specific problem I face is a one-week vacation I have scheduled in month. I'll be missing one class date the week of XYZ. I look forward to the remainder of the course.Assignment 2.
